EDUCATION
Dr. Elaine Roberts has worked with practicing and pre-service teachers and administrators for more than 20 years, focusing on classroom management, assessment, differentiated and personalized instructional strategies, technology integration, and literacy.
At CSL Elaine collaborates closely with school and district leaders to help create and refine programs that enable classroom teachers to improve their instructional planning and practice. She listens carefully to coach individuals, often through discovery and ‘What if?’ questions, to offer suggestions and possibilities, and to encourage opportunities for critical “Aha!” moments.
Throughout her career, Elaine has partnered with educators in small and large districts and schools, encouraging and mentoring teachers to step out of their instructional and assessment comfort zones. She assists educators in identifying ways to implement a diverse array of digital and technological resources, including coding and robots. She believes that when educators make small but significant adjustments in the ways they invite students to learn, both teacher effectiveness and student achievement benefit.
Early in her career, Elaine was a university professor of writing, literature, business communication, math, and computer science and a systems analyst/software engineer. As an advocate/practitioner in the adult and continuing education movement, Elaine was known as an early adopter and innovator in student-centered learning and is currently an adjunct professor at Judson University. She also was part of a team that helped develop one of the first portfolio-based adult degree completion programs, and she designed a comprehensive Management Information Systems curriculum for on-site and online learning.
