EDUCATION
Dr. Robert A. Martin’s expertise spans leadership, cultural proficiency, and student engagement—and he describes the cornerstones of his practice as “exposure, experience, and enrichment.”
Robert serves as program director of CSL’s three-year LIFT Initiative in collaboration with public school districts in Mount Clemens, Hazel Park, and Taylor, Michigan as well as the Oakland Schools Charter Network and Ecourse Public Schools. The program’s goals are to strengthen student learning by recruiting and supporting the professional growth of a diverse educator workforce—in part through creating a best-in-class human capital management system.
Robert is the program coordinator for Oakland University’s Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a special instructor in the university’s Department of Organizational Leadership. Previously, Robert was Chief of Staff for Utica Community Schools and Assistant Superintendent for West Bloomfield Schools. He also was a founding coordinator of a public arts academy and a high school and middle school administrator.
Robert has facilitated professional learning opportunities at public and private schools as well as rural, suburban, and urban districts, the Michigan Department of Education, and the Henry Ford Health System.
