Dr. Albert Hodge’s decades of experience as a teacher, principal, business owner, and college professor, have demonstrated his commitment to educational excellence.

As CSL’s LIFT Initiative Program Director, Albert leverages his instructional, leadership, and management skills across the Center’s collaboration with public school districts in Mount Clemens, Hazel Park, Oak Park, Ecorse, and Taylor, Michigan, as well as the network of schools chartered by Oakland University. The program’s goals are to strengthen student learning by recruiting and supporting the professional growth of a diverse educator workforce.

Albert built a national profile via speaking on educational equity and district leadership issues, as well as school excellence in reading instruction and support, at state and national conferences in Michigan, Louisiana, and California. As a performing arts school director and teacher, Albert – himself a musician – enjoyed writing music and musicals for his students that encompassed reading, cross-curricular achievement, positive behaviors, and school climate issues.
